PROJECT SPECIFICS
Colonie Hills is a quality, safe and supportive affordable housing development to be owned and operated by Rehabilitation Support Services and Kearney Realty & Development Group.
The 128-unit development at 179 Troy-Schenectady Road in the town of Colonie will create inviting, sustainable, and affordable community living, and provide much-needed senior, workforce, veteran, and disability housing. The project will be composed of 12 structures of approximately 11 units each, with streets, sidewalks, and ample amenities that will improve the health, wellness, and stability of its residents.
We intentionally incorporated a campus-style design that is intended to foster a strong sense of community for seniors, working families, veterans and individuals with special needs. And, as with every project we’ve developed, we will be fully engaged as a responsive and caring owner/operator committed to the wellbeing of the families and community we serve.
Funding for the project would come from a combination of sources including capital dollars from NYS Office of Mental Health and tax credits from NYS Homes and Community Renewal.
Colonie Hills will be on the tax rolls and pay real estate taxes. Real Property Tax Law 581-A dictates that the assessed value must take into consideration the affordable aspect of the project.
